Help Tackle Litter in Your Local Area!
Ready to make a real difference? The district council is calling on volunteers to join this year’s Great British Spring Clean campaign, kicking off this week. It’s your chance to clean up your community and show some pride!
Join the Battle Against Litter
Running from 17 March to 2 April, the annual spring clean organised by Keep Britain Tidy (KBT) urges everyone to unite for a greener, cleaner Britain. Now in its eighth year, the campaign spotlights the pride #LitterHeroes take in their communities. The council is rallying locals to get stuck in and take action right here in our district.
Despite spending £1.5m a year on street cleaning and running ongoing awareness campaigns, litter remains a problem—thanks to a few who ignore the bins. But the council applauds the many who care and the voluntary groups who keep chipping in.

More Than Just Picking Up Litter

- An Instagram video contest showcasing clever ways people bin their litter.
- REACH Awards returning for a second year to honour environmental heroes.
- LitterLotto app launch—win prizes for simply binning litter!
