A3 Northbound Shut After Renault Slams into Central Reservation
The A3 northbound between the A272 Petersfield South and North junctions is closed after a collision involving a blue Renault.
Renault Aquaplaned Into Crash
The crash happened just after 4:30pm today. Police say the Renault aquaplaned on the wet road before smashing into the central reservation. Specialist recovery firm JD Motors is on site, working to clear the wreckage.
Road Closure to Last Until 7pm
The A3 will be shut until at least 7pm as emergency crews deal with the incident. Drivers are being urged to take care on the slippery surface and drive for the conditions.

“It’s not water itself that causes aquaplaning – it’s trying to drive through it too fast,” a road safety expert said. “Slow down in wet conditions and stay safe.”
