Person Rescued After Incident Halts Dartford Crossing Traffic

Chaos broke out on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge yesterday after emergency services rescued a person in distress at around 12:25pm on May 22.

Bridge Shut, Traffic Backed Up for Miles

All traffic on the Dartford Crossing came to a standstill, causing brutal delays and tailbacks stretching three miles. Essex Police rushed to the scene and safely brought the individual to safety, easing the tense situation.

Bridge Reopens and Traffic Returns to Normal

The bridge was reopened by 2:30pm, with traffic restrictions lifted shortly after. Commuters faced long waits but were eventually able to get moving again.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said, “The person has been brought to safety. The road is now reopening. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
