Blaze Breaks Out in Mereworth Home
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a house fire on The Street in Mereworth, near Maidstone. Four fire engines, a height vehicle, and the Volunteer Response Team were on the scene.
Firefighters Battle Fierce Flames
Crews wearing breathing apparatus attacked the blaze with two main jets, two hose reels, and water from a hydrant. The fire started on the first floor and had spread into the roof space.
Three Injured, Two Rescued
- One adult suffered burns.
- Two adults and one child endured smoke inhalation.
- All were treated by SECAmb paramedics after being found outside.
- Firefighters rescued two people from inside the property.
Cause Still Unknown
The fire is believed to have started in a first-floor bedroom, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
