Deadly Drama at Penkridge Station Shuts Stafford Line
Emergency teams raced to Penkridge railway station around 6.30am on October 2 after reports of a person on the tracks. Despite desperate efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The tragic incident forced the closure of train lines between Stafford and Wolverhampton. Services from London Euston faced “major disruption,” with delays and cancellations lasting more than five hours as operators scrambled to restore normal service.
Police Say No Foul Play Suspected
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 6.30am today (2 October) at Penkridge railway station. Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
