Trapped Driver Rescued After Car Ploughs Into Ditch Near Dover
A person was dramatically rescued early this morning after their car overturned and landed upside down in a ditch near Dover. The crash on the busy A2 coast-bound near Lydden sparked an urgent emergency response.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 7:23 AM. They found a single vehicle flipped over in a ditch, with a driver trapped inside. Fire crews rushed in to free the stranded occupant using specialised rescue gear.
Firefighters Battle to Free Trapped Motorist
Three fire engines reached the scene quickly. Firefighters stabilised the precarious car with blocks, chocks, and braces to prevent further movement. They also had to cut through thick trees and shrubbery to reach the vehicle.
The trapped individual was successfully freed and handed over to paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for medical checks and treatment.

“We got a report of a crash on the A2 near Lydden,” said a Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson. “Our crews arrived swiftly and stabilised the overturned vehicle. We cut away vegetation to access the trapped person and then handed them over to SECAmb for care.”
