Driver Seriously Injured in Horror Crash Near A303
At around 9.30pm on Monday (2nd November), disaster struck near Pertwood, just a mile north of the A303 junction. A grey Citroen Berlingo van, heading north, smashed off the road and slammed into a tree.
Man in His 20s Hospitalised with Serious Injuries
The driver, a local man in his 20s, was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton Hospital. He suffered serious head, leg, and internal injuries. He remains in a serious condition, with no signs of recovery yet.
Road Closed for Hours as Police Investigate
The crash involved no other vehicles and left no one else hurt. Emergency crews closed the road for several hours while they worked the scene and conducted a collision investigation. The route reopened at 3am.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
PC Geoff Stephens of Wiltshire Police collision unit said:
“We would like to speak to anyone driving on that stretch of road who saw the grey van around the time of the crash.
“If you witnessed the collision, saw the van before the incident, or have dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
