Blaze Rips Through Dartford Cornfield After Hedge Fire
Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to a fire burning in a hedgerow off Shirehall Road, Hawley, Dartford. The flames quickly spread to a nearby cornfield, sparking serious concern.
Firefighters Battle the Blaze
Five fire engines and a fogging unit tackled the fierce fire. Crews doused the flames with hose reel jets, successfully stopping the fire from spreading any further. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Arson Suspected in Cornwall Field Fire
Kent Police have launched an investigation, suspecting the fire was deliberately set. Officers reviewed CCTV footage and believe potential witnesses were nearby, possibly in the local toilets, when the blaze broke out.
“Deliberate fires not only endanger lives but divert valuable firefighters from other emergencies,” warned officials.
