Bomb Squad Blow Up Suspicious Van Outside Bromley Police Station

Chaos hit Bromley in the early hours when officers shut down part of their own station after spotting a dodgy van parked right outside. Just before 3am on Thursday, cops sealed off Kentish Way and Mason’s Hill and called in bomb experts to carry out a controlled explosion on the suspicious white Ford Transit.

Van Left Dangerously Parked Near Police HQ

The 16-plate white Ford Transit was left abandoned on the pavement near the rear entrance to Bromley Police Station. Its careless parking raised immediate alarm bells among officers who wasted no time alerting their bosses.

Roads Closed, Bomb Squad Called In

  • Police swiftly closed Kentish Way and Mason’s Hill
  • Specialist bomb disposal experts in bombproof suits arrived on scene
  • A front window was smashed, and rear doors ripped open during the search

False Alarm but No Risks Taken

A Met Police spokesman confirmed: “At approximately 2.40am on Thursday, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle close to Masons Hill in Bromley. The vehicle was found to be non-suspicious. Roads were temporarily closed but have since reopened.”

No threats were found, but Bromley’s finest made sure safety came first, turning a badly parked van into a headline-grabbing police operation.
