Massive Search Launched for Missing Person on River Stour

Emergency crews from across Kent have been scrambled after reports of a missing person on a houseboat on the River Stour.

Coastguards, Lifeboats, and Police Join Forces

Teams from Deal, Dover, and Margate Coastguard stations, alongside the RNLI Lifeboat from Walmer and Kent Police officers, responded to the urgent call just after 2.30pm on Sunday, 20 March 2022. Concerns grew quickly, prompting a massive search operation.

Water and Land Search Underway

A large-scale search is now underway on both land and water. A Police Search Advisor (PolSA) has been deployed to aid coordination, with the entire operation being managed by the UK Coastguard operations centre in Dover.

Incident Still Ongoing

The search continues as emergency services pull every resource to find the missing person. Kent Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) have been contacted for comment.
