Purplebricks Donates £3,000 to Save Portsmouth Kids’ Lives!
Online estate agent Purplebricks has chipped in a whopping £3,000 for a lifesaving blood gas analyser at Queen Alexandra Hospital’s Children’s Assessment Unit in Cosham. The donation will help the unit get its own machine, ending the need to borrow equipment from other hospital departments.
Why This Donation Matters
Right now, the Children’s Assessment Unit lacks its own blood gas analyser, meaning staff must rely on slower alternatives. Kenny Bruce, co-founder of Purplebricks, said, “The dedication of the staff to fundraise for this equipment is incredible, and we’re thrilled to support such an important cause.”
Tracey Thomas, Sister on the Children’s Assessment Unit, added, “For a national company still in its early days to back a local hospital fundraiser is both humbling and inspiring. We sincerely thank Purplebricks for their generosity.”
Life-Saving Impact for Young Patients
One young patient, Lucy Gudgeon, recently reaped the benefits of the machine. Her mum Kay revealed, “Lucy suffered from hyponatraemia, detected thanks to blood analysis. The quick blood tests every four hours allowed us to monitor and treat her condition successfully.”
Kay continued, “I saw firsthand how crucial quick blood analysis was. Thanks to the blood gas analyser on the Unit, staff closely monitored her care. The team worked wonders, getting her fit and well in time to be a bridesmaid at her brother’s wedding!”
