Blaze at Westgate Flat Roof Tackled by Firefighters
Five Fire Engines Rush to Cuthbert Road Fire
Firefighters swung into action on Friday, 17 January 2025 after reports of a roof fire above a flat on Cuthbert Road, Westgate. At exactly 8:00 PM, Kent Fire and Rescue Service dispatched five fire engines and a height vehicle to battle the flames.
Armed with breathing apparatus and high-pressure hose reel jets, crews worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control.
Fire Under Control by 10:19 PM – No Injuries
Thanks to quick response, firefighters had the fire doused by 10:19 PM. Miraculously, no one was hurt during the incident. Authorities believe the fire was accidental, though investigations are ongoing.
Swift Action Prevents Fire Spreading
Using a sturdy 7m ladder, crews climbed onto the roof to tackle the flames head-on. Their prompt work prevented the fire from spreading to nearby flats, keeping residents safe and damage to a minimum.
