Selsey RNLI Launches Rescue at Bognor Regis
Emergency call at 5pm: Selsey RNLI sprang into action after the UK Coastguard received a report of a person in the sea off Bognor Regis seafront.
Speedy Lifeboat Response
The all-weather lifeboat (ALB) launched at 5.10pm, racing to the scene near the pier. Despite rough seas and heavy rain with a south-westerly wind force 7-8, the crew pushed through.
By 5.22pm, as the lifeboat arrived, the Ambulance service confirmed the person was already out of the water and safe.
Support from Coastguard Rescue Teams
Littlehampton and Selsey Coastguard Rescue Teams were also scrambled to the incident. The lifeboat stood by until their arrival to ensure all was well.
At 5.41pm, the Coastguard released the lifeboat from duty. The crew returned to Selsey at 6.08pm and recovered the vessel immediately.
