Fuel Spill Sparks M20 Chaos After Car and Lorry Crash
A nasty smash between a car and a lorry has shut the M20’s eastbound carriageway in Kent, leaving drivers stuck and frustration mounting.
200 Litres of Fuel Spilled on Busy Motorway
The HGV involved leaked a hefty 200 litres of fuel, damaging the road surface. Specialists must now treat the contaminated carriageway before it reopens.
The crash happened between Junction 10A (Ashford) and Junction 11 (Westenhanger). Emergency crews, including Kent Police and National Highways Traffic Officers, are on site managing the scene.
Long Road Closure and Diversions Warned
Authorities expect the closure to last for hours due to investigation and cleanup. Drivers are urged to follow official diversion signs marked with a hollow circle heading coastbound.
- Leave the M20 at Junction 10, taking the A20 eastbound towards Folkestone.
- Continue along the A20 up to Junction 11.
- Rejoin the M20 at Junction 11.
Expect delays and consider alternative routes or a delay to travel if possible. Safety is paramount—please obey all road closure instructions.
