Serious Crash Shuts Hatfield Junction on Both Sides of A1M
The A1(M) is shut in both directions between Junction 3 (Hatfield) and Junction 1 of the M25 after a major smash in the early hours of March 30.
Collision Sparks Emergency Response
Hertfordshire Police rushed to the scene at 1am after a car slammed into the barriers on the roundabout. The grey Skoda took serious damage to its front.
Driver Seriously Injured
The driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in nearby Town. Police remain on site investigating the cause of the crash, which is still unclear.
Road Closed Until At Least 5am
Highways England warned the carriageway will stay closed for some time. Spokesperson said: “The carriageway is expected to remain closed until at least 5am while Hertfordshire Police carry out their investigation.”
