Serious Crash on A714 Near Girvan: Police Hunt Witnesses
A major smash on the A714 near Pinwherry, Girvan has left one man in critical condition and police are desperate for witnesses.
Saturday’s Collision Involved Porsche and Renault
The crash happened around 4.20pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023. A grey Porsche GT collided with a red Renault Scenic on the busy road.
A 72-year-old man driving the Renault was seriously hurt and rushed to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock. His condition is critical.
The Porsche’s 51-year-old driver escaped with minor injuries, but his 41-year-old passenger suffered serious harm and was also taken to the hospital.
Road Closed, Driver Arrested
Emergency crews closed the stretch of A714 to investigate. The Porsche driver was arrested and charged with a traffic offence. He is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, September 25.
A full report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
