Massive Fire Breaks Out on First Floor
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters rushed to tackle a serious blaze tonight at a residential block on Institute Place, Hackney. The fire ignited in a first-floor flat of a five-storey building, sparking an immediate and large-scale response from London Fire Brigade.
Crews from Stoke Newington, Bethnal Green, Homerton, and nearby stations were on scene quickly after the emergency call came in at 7:59pm.
No Injuries Amid Fierce Fight
Despite the intensity of the flames, miraculously no injuries have been reported. Firefighters had the fire under control by 8:55pm – less than an hour after being alerted.
Traffic Chaos and Ongoing Investigation
Traffic in the surrounding area remains severely disrupted as emergency teams manage the aftermath. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is now under investigation by the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.
“Thanks to the rapid response of our crews, the fire was swiftly brought under control. We’re now working to determine how the fire started and ensure the building is safe,” said a London Fire Brigade spokesperson.
