Blaze Breaks Out at Marylebone Restaurant
Six fire engines and 40 firefighters raced to tackle a fierce blaze at a restaurant on Nutford Place, Marylebone, last night. The fire gutted half of the ground-floor eatery beneath residential flats.
Swift Action Stops Fire Spreading Upstairs
Miraculously, no one was injured. Station Officer Will Thompson, on the scene, said: “Crews arrived to find the restaurant alight with heavy smoke billowing from the building.”
“Several people had already escaped when firefighters arrived. A quick, thorough search was carried out. Thanks to rapid response, the fire was contained swiftly, preventing it from spreading to flats above or neighbouring properties.”
Road Closures and Multiple Fire Stations Respond
The London Fire Brigade received the alert at 10.08pm, bringing the blaze under control by 11.57pm. Firefighters from Paddington, Euston, Soho, Kensington, and North Kensington fire stations joined the efforts.
Road closures were enforced while crews worked to secure the area.
Fire Cause Under Investigation
The cause of the blaze remains unknown as investigations continue.
