Fatal Smash Shuts A11 for Hours

Disaster struck the A11 near Mildenhall, Suffolk, on Monday, May 30th, at 12:10pm. A collision involving a white Maxus flatbed, a red Range Rover Sport, and a Scania lorry brought traffic to a standstill.

Two Dead at the Scene

Emergency crews—including police, ambulance, and Suffolk Fire & Rescue—rushed to the crash site between Elveden and Barton Mills on the southbound carriageway. Tragically, both the driver and passenger of the Maxus flatbed were pronounced dead on arrival.

A11 Closed for Nearly Six Hours

The serious crash forced the closure of the A11 in both directions. The northbound lane remained shut until around 6pm while investigations and clearance work took place.

Witnesses Urged to Speak Out
