Six men have been charged in a National Crime Agency probe after more than half a tonne of cannabis was seized at Birmingham Airport.
Big Drugs Bust Across Luton and London
Kyle Gribben, Zaeon Hunter, Lashan Walker (all 26), James Turner and Torian Robinson (both 25), plus 22-year-old Devonte Newman were arrested in October 2024. NCA officers, backed by Bedfordshire Police, swooped on homes in Marsh Farm, Luton, and Finchley, north London.
Massive Drug Import Plot Uncovered
The six are accused of masterminding attempts to import cannabis between 1 June and 9 August 2024, including the massive haul caught on 9 August at Birmingham Airport. That day, 11 passengers arriving from Thailand via Paris Charles de Gaulle were also arrested and charged over the drugs plot.
£13.8 Million Worth of Weed Seized
The cannabis confiscated is estimated to have a street value of around £13.8 million across the UK. All six men appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 10 April and were released on bail ahead of their next hearing at Birmingham Crown Court on 8 May.
