Swanley Care Home Hit Hard as Four Residents Die with COVID-19
Tragedy has struck at Emerson Grange care home in Swanley, where four elderly residents have died after testing positive for COVID-19 in hospital.
Four Residents Lost After Hospital COVID Diagnoses
The residential care home, which looks after 40 people aged over 65, confirmed that the four residents caught the virus while hospitalised for existing health problems. All passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.
Care Home Boss Issues Heartfelt Statement
Greg Swire, director of Cinnamon Care Collection, said: “Emerson Grange had just one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the home as of April 8th, and this resident is receiving care onsite.
“There have been no deaths within the home itself from COVID-19. Sadly, four residents who were already in hospital for other serious health issues tested positive before their deaths. Our thoughts are with their families at this very difficult time.”
“We follow strict Government and Public Health guidelines to protect our residents and staff. Our teams have shown incredible professionalism and compassion during these challenging times.”
Strict Safety Measures in Place
Emerson Grange insists it maintains rigorous safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus and safeguard the vulnerable residents under its care.
The deaths highlight ongoing concerns about protecting elderly care home populations from COVID-19.
