Fatal Crash Shuts Down A40 and Piccadilly Line in West London
Tragedy struck early Monday on the A40 in west London. At 03:48 a.m. on August 22, a deadly collision near Park Royal Underground Station has forced closures of both the A40 westbound and the Piccadilly Line.
Range Rover and Tesla Crash: One Dead, Several Hurt
Police and ambulance crews rushed to the scene after reports of a smash involving a Range Rover and a Tesla. The impact sent the Range Rover careering off the road and onto the railway tracks. Sadly, the female passenger in the Range Rover was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency efforts.
Other passengers were not so lucky. A woman thought to be in the stationary Tesla suffered non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile, two other occupants of the Range Rover—a man and a woman—were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Authorities have yet to release updates on their condition.
Travel Chaos Continues – Avoid the Area
Officers have sealed off the crash site and set up cordons. With both the A40 and the Piccadilly Line shut down, commuters are urged to steer clear of the area. Expect significant delays as investigations and recovery work continue.
