The latest portraits of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla have just dropped – and they scream royal elegance!
Regal in Blue at Buckingham Palace
Snapped by photographer Hugo Burnard in the blue drawing room of Buckingham Palace, the images show the royal couple both together and solo. In the joint shot, Charles and Camilla stand side-by-side, framed by a portrait of King George V painted just after his 1911 coronation.
The pair look every inch the monarchs, rocking striking blue outfits. Camilla stuns in a blue wool crepe coat dress, while Charles dons a sharp blue suit by Anderson and Sheppard. Talk about a power couple!
Solo Shots Reflect Timeless Majesty
The other two snaps catch Charles and Camilla sitting alone, each in exquisite giltwood and silk-upholstered armchairs from the early 19th century. Charles relaxes in an 1829 armchair, while Camilla poses regally in one dating back to 1812. These portraits perfectly capture their poised and majestic presence.
New Coronation Partition Unveiled
Alongside the portraits, a fresh partition for the upcoming coronation ceremony has been revealed. Designed by painter Aidan Hart, this embroidered screen pays tribute to the Commonwealth with a stunning tree motif.
The main panel showcases a tree with the names of all 56 Commonwealth member states stitched onto its leaves. Inspired by the Golden Jubilee stained glass at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, the design symbolises the “family of nations.”
The partition will shield the King on three sides, featuring the decorated central screen flanked by two additional side panels – an elegant nod to unity and tradition as Charles takes the throne.
