Police Warning to Phone-Obsessed Drivers
Essex Roads Policing Unit slammed around 20 drivers who risked safety by filming a crash one-handed. A spokesperson warned: “To the 20 or so drivers who drove by one-handed to film it with your phones, not watching the road ahead, keep an eye on your letter box – we’ll be in touch.”
Early Morning Collision Brings Traffic to a Halt
The smash happened just before the M25, around 6:40am westbound. Police had to shut the road for hours to clear the chaos and investigate.
Safety Expert Urges Drivers to Keep Safe Distance
Mark Byard, Director of Health, Safety and Wellbeing at Highways 1, stressed safe driving tips: “Drivers should allow at least a two second gap between you and the vehicle in front on roads carrying faster-moving traffic. This gap should be doubled on wet roads and further increased on icy roads or when visibility is poor.”
