Four fire engines and 25 firefighters battled a blaze that tore through a West Brompton house on Finborough Road yesterday night (20 March).

Basement and Ground Floor Suffer Damage

The fire gutted half of a mid-terraced house’s basement and spread to a small area of the ground floor.

Smoke Inhalation Victim Rescued

  • A woman suffering from smoke inhalation was rescued by fire crews in breathing gear.
  • She was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics.
  • Before firefighters arrived, a man exited the property and was taken to hospital.
  • Three women also evacuated safely before the Brigade’s arrival.

Firefighters Quell Flames After Nearly 2 Hours

The London Fire Brigade was called at 9.54pm, deploying teams from Chelsea, Kensington, Battersea, and Hammersmith.

The fire was extinguished by 11.38pm. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
