Hit-and-Run Shocker in Stratford
A pedestrian was rushed to hospital this afternoon after being struck by a car in Stratford. The smash happened just before 12:20pm on The Grove, near Great Eastern Road.
Emergency services swooped in after reports that a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the road. London Ambulance Service paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking them to hospital. The severity of the injuries is still unclear, say Metropolitan Police.
Driver Flees the Scene
Shockingly, the driver fled before police arrived. Officers are now hunting the hit-and-run culprit.
“We are working to identify the driver involved in this incident and would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward,” said a police spokesperson.
Road Closures and Bus Disruptions
A police cordon remains in place, causing major disruption. Bus routes 69 and 257 have been diverted due to the road closures.
