School Bus Crashes into Railway Bridge in Winchester – Three Kids Seriously Injured
Police are hunting for witnesses after a school bus slammed into a railway bridge in Winchester, leaving three children with potentially life-changing injuries.
Crash Details
The shocking collision happened at 8:10am on Wellhouse Lane on 10 September. The bus was travelling from Itchen Abbas through Easton and Kingsworthy when the top of the vehicle struck the low bridge, causing severe damage.
Children Hurt in Crash
- Three pupils, aged between 11 and 16, were seriously hurt and needed surgery.
- The Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now probing exactly how the crash happened.
Police Appeal for Information
“This was a serious collision and our investigation will look to identify the exact circumstances,” said Detective Constable Cate Paling, senior investigating officer. “We have been working closely with the school and Hampshire County Council to support the students and their families.
