71-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck on M20 After Stopping on Hard Shoulder

Late on Valentine’s Day around 10:20pm, a 71-year-old man was killed on the M20 between junctions 8 and 9 coastbound.

  • He’d stopped his blue Kia on the hard shoulder and was hit after exiting the vehicle by an Iveco box van.
  • The man was pronounced dead at the scene; a female passenger suffered minor injuries.
  • The van driver is cooperating with Kent Police as they launch a serious collision probe.
