Disaster struck at dawn in Perth as a ferocious fire tore through the New County Hotel, killing three people and a dog.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 5:10 a.m., dispatching 21 ambulance teams and nine fire engines. Despite their best efforts, Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed the tragic deaths.
