Deadly Fire Rips Through Taiwan Golf Ball Factory
A horrific blaze tore through a golf ball factory in Taiwan, killing at least six people, including three brave firefighters who lost their lives in a catastrophic explosion. The fire broke out Friday evening and continued to burn through the night.
Over 100 people were injured, most of them factory workers, according to Pingtung county officials. Amid the chaos, one firefighter and three others remain missing, raising fears for their safety.
Swift Emergency Response
Emergency services rushed to the scene with 12 ambulances, battling the fierce flames and rescuing victims trapped inside. The explosion caused part of the factory roof to collapse, trapping several workers.
An official from Pingtung Fire Department revealed that stored chemical peroxide likely triggered the massive blast and a series of smaller explosions.
