90-Year-Old Woman Killed in Shocking Liverpool Crash
A tragic road accident on Friday evening claimed the life of a 90-year-old woman in Liverpool. At around 6:10pm GMT, the elderly pedestrian was struck by a silver Vauxhall Corsa on Acrefield Road.
Despite rapid medical response, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her identity as they notify next of kin.
Driver and Road Closures
The driver, a 52-year-old man, remains cooperative with police. Meanwhile, the Roads Policing Unit has shut down key roads around the crash site including Acrefield Road, Glenrose Road, and Rose Brow for forensic investigations.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes to prevent delays.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
“We send our deepest condolences to the family,” said Chief Inspector Phil Thompson. “They are being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.”
The investigation into the collision is active and ongoing. Police are appealing to anyone near Acrefield Road at the time with dashcam footage to come forward.
