Hampshire Man Busted in Terror Probe
A 40-year-old man from Hampshire was arrested in a high-stakes terrorism investigation on Thursday, April 22. Christopher Carey, from Caperns Road, North Anston, was snapped up by South Yorkshire’s Counter Terrorism Policing North East in a pre-planned, intelligence-led swoop.
Serious Charges Filed
Carey now faces three charges under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 for spreading terrorist material. Plus, he’s hit with a possession charge for Class A drugs under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. The 40-year-old appeared via video link at Westminster Magistrates Court on Saturday, April 24, and was remanded in custody.
Police Urge Public Vigilance
