Peek witnessed a man known to him arguing with a bus driver before jumping into the fray. In a shocking turn, Peek pulled out a knife and stabbed the driver. He was arrested and charged with Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.

The victim endured a torn heart muscle, seven fractured ribs, and a punctured lung following the violent assault at 1:15pm on Sunday, 18 June. Thanks to expert staff at Royal London Hospital, an emergency operation saved his life.

Detective Inspector Jonathan Potter said: “This was a senseless attack and a huge team effort from officers across the Met to secure justice for the victim.
“Facial recognition technology and CCTV footage allowed officers to quickly identify and locate Peek. I also thank Royal London Hospital colleagues for their life-saving emergency operation.”
