Train Hits Person at Three Bridges Station

Emergency services rushed to Three Bridges station shortly after 11:45am today. The 11:15am train from London Victoria to Littlehampton struck a person while passing through the station.

Lines Blocked Between Gatwick and Haywards Heath

All tracks are currently blocked between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath as emergency teams deal with the serious incident. The affected train is reported to be at platform 5 at Three Bridges.

Southern Rail tweeted: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath. Some lines towards the coast are blocked whilst emergency services work to deal with this incident.”

Travel Disruptions and Alternatives

Passengers affected by the disruption can use alternative Southern and Thameslink services. London Buses between London and Purley, as well as the London Underground via reasonable routes, are also accepting valid train tickets.

Rail replacement buses will begin operating from Three Bridges within 30 minutes.
