Train Tragedy at Three Bridges: Person Struck by London Victoria to Littlehampton Service
Emergency crews were scrambled to Three Bridges station just after 11:45am today. The 11:15am train from London Victoria to Littlehampton struck a person while passing through the station.
All Lines Blocked Between Gatwick and Haywards Heath
Train services are at a standstill with all lines blocked between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath as emergency teams deal with the incident.
The train involved is currently held at platform 5, according to Sussex Trains.
Southern Rail Confirms Incident
“It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath. Some lines towards the coast are blocked while emergency services are working to manage this incident,” Southern Rail said on Twitter.
Travel Disruptions & Alternatives
Passengers are advised that tickets will be accepted on alternative Southern and Thameslink routes, as well as London Buses between London and Purley and the London Underground via any reasonable route.
Rail replacement buses have been confirmed and will run from Three Bridges within the next 30 minutes.
