Tragic Death of 12-Year-Old Cardiff Boy Shocks Community
A 12-year-old boy from Cardiff has died in what police describe as “catastrophic circumstances” just weeks into the new school term. Marc Aguilar, a popular and well-liked pupil known for his love of sports, passed away on Saturday afternoon, leaving his family and local community devastated.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances
Emergency services were called to Marc’s home in St Mellons around 4 pm. South Wales Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the sudden death. An ongoing investigation is underway on behalf of the coroner.
Heartfelt Tributes Pour In for Young Sportsman
Family member Daniel Arthur paid a moving tribute: “What would’ve been such a beautiful day ended in catastrophic circumstances. Our little cousin Marc passed away aged 12. The family are truly heartbroken.” He described Marc as “a nice, polite boy” and said the family felt fortunate to have known him.
School Offers Support Amidst Grief
Marc was a Year Eight student at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern in Penylan, Cardiff. The school released a statement calling him a “popular and likeable pupil and a keen sportsman” who will be “missed sorely”. Counsellors have been made available to support students and staff affected by the tragedy. School staff have also visited Marc’s family to offer condolences.
South Wales Police added: “Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
