Two Children Rescued From Southampton Flat Fire In Southampton

Two children rescued from Southampton Flat fire in Southampton

Two children were rescued from a first floor flat after a fire in a Southampton shop early this morning (February 15). Two adults and a dog were also led from the flat above the shop by firefighters in breathing apparatus. The group were taken to Southampton General Hospital for precautionary check ups but suffered no serious injuries. The 999 call reported that the people were trapped in the front bedroom of the property. Fire crews from St Mary’s and Eastleigh arrived and were able to make entry to the shop and reach the flat upstairs. The fire was out just after 5.20am and the fire is now subject to a joint investigation between police and fire to determine the cause.
