Kitchen Blaze at Brighton’s Eagle Bar Sparks Emergency Rush

Firefighters rushed to the Eagle Bar in Brighton just before 11am today (9 February 2025) after a kitchen fire broke out, sparking a major scare.

Swift Response from East Sussex Fire Crew

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) received the emergency call at 10:56am reporting flames at the pub on Gloucester Road. Fire crews arrived quickly, donning breathing apparatus and using a hose reel to douse the small but smoky kitchen blaze.

They also deployed a positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan to clear the smoke and make the pub safe again.

Two Treated, No Serious Injuries

Two people were checked over by paramedics on the scene and later handed to ambulance crews. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported following the incident.

Fire Ruled Accidental

ESFRS confirmed the fire was accidental, putting the pub and its patrons out of danger after a tense few moments.
