Two Fishermen Rescued After Fishing Boat Sinks Off Isle of Man

Drama at Sea as Vessel Goes Down

Two fishermen were saved after their 10-metre fishing boat sank off the Isle of Man on Wednesday evening. At 6pm, the Belfast Coastguard Operations Centre received an emergency signal when the men activated their Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) from their life raft.

Rescue Mission in Full Swing

HM Coastguard swiftly launched a rescue operation, calling in RNLI lifeboats from Port St Mary and Port Erin, plus a helicopter from Caernarfon. Thanks to the pinpoint location from the PLBs, rescuers found the fishermen wearing life jackets, safely aboard the Port Erin lifeboat.

Quick Thinking and Teamwork Save Lives

The prompt action of the crew and the coordinated response from rescue services ensured both men made it back to shore unharmed. The cause of the sinking remains under investigation.
