Drivers heading northbound (towards London) must follow a tricky diversion marked by a hollow square symbol. Here’s the detour:

  • Exit the A21 at Sedlescombe and take the B2244.
  • Travel northbound towards Hawkhurst, continuing until you reach the A229 junction.
  • Join the A229 northbound up to the A268 junction.
  • Turn west onto the A268 and proceed to the crossroads at Flimwell.
  • From Flimwell, drivers can rejoin the A21 and continue their journey.

Motorists are urged to plan for delays and consider alternative routes where possible.
