M4 Chaos: Overturned Lorry Spills Bleach and Diesel, Drivers Face Massive Delays
Drivers are stuck in gridlock this morning after a lorry flipped on the M4, spilling hazardous chemicals and causing chaos on the London-bound carriageway.
Lorry Overturns Just Before Dawn
The heavy goods vehicle overturned at around 4.45am on Friday, November 4. The crash unleashed a dangerous mix of bleach and diesel across the road, forcing emergency crews to shut lanes and slow traffic to a crawl.
Hazardous Spill Triggers Long Delays
Mark Jones from RBFRS (Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service) said the scene remains “complex” as crews tackle the chemical spill and clear the wreckage. “Motorists should expect significant delays,” he warned.
Emergency Teams Work Through The Morning
Firefighters and clean-up crews are on site, working hard to make the stretch safe again. Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes to beat the backlog.
