Massive Blaze Erupts on Dalston Lane, Hackney
Twelve fire engines and around 100 firefighters swooped on a roaring blaze tearing through a four-storey block of flats on Dalston Lane, Hackney. Fire crews were scrambled at 9:20am Tuesday to find flames ripping through flats on the second and third floors.
Road Closures and Bus Disruptions Hit Local Area
The fire sparked multiple road closures, with Dalston Lane shut tight while crews battled the blaze. Local bus routes 30 and 56 have been rerouted, causing chaos for morning commuters. Station Commander Chris Swallow warned: “Dalston Lane is currently closed whilst we work to make the scene safe. This is causing congestion so please avoid the area where possible.”
Firefighters Bring Blaze Under Control After Hours of Intense Battle
Firefighters from Homerton, Stoke Newington, Leyton, Islington and neighbouring stations tackled the fully developed fire. It was brought under control by 12:44pm after hours of relentless effort. A London Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed the scale: “Twelve fire engines and around eighty firefighters were called to a flat fire on Dalston Lane.”

The fire’s origin remains unknown as officials launch an investigation. No details on injuries or evacuations have yet been released. Fire crews continue to work on making the scene safe, with residents urged to steer clear of the area during ongoing disruption.
