Bomb Squad Rush to MI5 HQ Over Suspect Package

Explosive experts from the Met Police were scrambled to Thames House on Millbank after a suspicious package was reported at MI5 headquarters in London. Staff were ordered to evacuate as emergency services swarmed the area near the British Tate Gallery.

Suspicious Item Sparks Major Security Alert

Officers were called just after 11:30am on Thursday following an alarm raised by staff who discovered the device. Roads around the area were quickly shut down, and drivers were urged to avoid the vicinity amid growing concern.

Met Police Confirm Hoax, Roads Reopen

A Met Police spokesman said:

“At 11:25am on Thursday, 10 November police were called to 1, SW1 after concerns were raised about a suspicious item. Road closures are in place while the item is assessed. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.”

By 12:52pm, the bomb squad had determined the item was non-threatening. The incident was stood down, and normal activity resumed.
