Man Arrested After Taking Photos of Children Outside Hove School
A 21-year-old man from Hove was arrested on suspicion of taking inappropriate photos of children outside a local school in Sussex. The swift police response followed reports of suspicious behaviour near Belfast Street school gates.
Rapid Police Action Following Public Tip-Off
Sussex Police were alerted at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, April 2. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and detained a man matching the suspect’s description within 20 minutes.
He was arrested on suspicion of recording under clothing without consent and stalking. The man remains in custody as an investigation is underway.
Police Reassure Public and Call for Witnesses
“We understand that incidents like this cause significant concern in the community, and we want to reassure the public that this matter has been treated with the utmost seriousness,” said Chief Inspector Simon Marchant of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“A full investigation was launched immediately, and a man was detained within 20 minutes of the initial report. Our officers continue to patrol the area to maintain a visible presence, and we encourage anyone with concerns to speak with them or make a report.”
