Near Double Rollover on M20 Sparks Massive Traffic Chaos Towards Channel Tunnel
Hundreds of drivers were left stranded in heavy jams on the M20 this evening after a dramatic two-vehicle crash involving a grey and a red Freelander in Kent.
Freelander Flip and Crash Barriers Chaos
One Freelander flipped onto its roof while the other smashed into crash barriers. Recovery crews had to winch both vehicles clear during the busy rush hour, causing major disruption for commuters heading towards the Channel Tunnel.
Paramedics and Police On Scene
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service treated those involved at the scene. Meanwhile, Highways England shut the London-bound carriageway to aid in clearing the wreckage, sparking a huge backlog stretching back to the Tunnel.
Curious Onlookers and Investigation Underway
Traffic on the coastbound side slowed as drivers gawked at the recovery operation. Police have launched an investigation into the crash and will be speaking to both drivers to determine if any offences were committed.
Kent Police have been contacted for comment, but details remain unclear.
