Rubbish Pile Ignites, Fire Spreads Fast
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to School Lane, Iwade, near Sittingbourne, after reports of a shed on fire. A large pile of rubbish had caught alight and quickly spread to a nearby shed and outbuilding.
Massive Fire Response Quells the Flames
Four fire engines and a bulk water carrier were deployed to tackle the blaze. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to bring the fire under control.
No Injuries, Cause Unknown
Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident. The cause of the fire remains a mystery as investigations continue.
