Wiltshire Police HQ Evacuated but Declared Safe

Devizes Police HQ in Wiltshire was evacuated as a precaution earlier this evening after a reported incident sparked concern.

Thorough Search Finds No Threat

The alarm went off just before 6pm, leading officers to conduct a full sweep of the building. By 9pm, the estate was declared completely safe with zero risk to staff or the public.

No Terror Links, No Injuries, No Arrests

“Contrary to some inaccurate media speculation, there is categorically no link to terrorism,” said Superintendent Doug Downing. “There were no reported injuries and no arrests have been made.”

He also thanked the public for their patience during the brief disruption while police secured the site.

Back to Business as Usual

The incident is now fully resolved. Normal operations have resumed at Wiltshire Police’s Devizes headquarters.
