Yellow Weather Warning Hits South-East This Weekend

The Met Office has slammed a yellow weather warning on the South and South-East of England from Saturday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon. Get ready for heavy rain and strong winds set to wreak havoc across the region.

Flooding and Travel Chaos on the Cards

The warning covers a wide area, with rain expected to hit from 5pm on Wednesday until 6am on Thursday. Expect spray and flooding on roads, making journeys slow and treacherous. Bus and train services are likely to face delays or cancellations.

“Flooding of homes and businesses is possible,” the Met Office warned.

Heavy Rain and Gale-Force Winds Batter Region

Rain will first hit south Wales and southwest England Saturday afternoon before creeping eastwards, clearing by early Sunday. While hills will see the worst, heavy rain could hit anywhere, with 15-25mm common and some spots receiving a deluge of 40-60mm, especially over hilly terrain.

Strong winds will roar alongside the rain, with gusts of 45-55mph expected over hills and coastal areas.

Travel plans? Think again. Better stay indoors and keep those brollies ready!
