Woman Dragged to Death by Gators at Florida Golf Course
A deadly gator attack unfolded just before 8 p.m. on Friday at the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club in Englewood, about 30 miles south of Sarasota.
Fell Into Pond, Fought to Survive
The woman fell into a pond near her home on the course and struggled to stay afloat, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office revealed. Two alligators lurked nearby and eventually seized her.
“Two alligators were observed near the victim while in the water and eventually grabbed her while in the water,” said the sheriff’s office.
Tragic End, Gators Removed
The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stepped in, capturing and removing the alligators as part of the ongoing investigation.
