BMW Motorrad Back in the Race at Misano

BMW Motorrad Motorsport is firing up engines again after an eight-week break. The team gears up for round four of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship, set for June 14-16 at Italy’s stunning Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on the Adriatic coast. After a strong start to the season, BMW is hungry to keep the momentum rolling.

Razgatlioglu Charging Towards the Title

Riding high is BMW factory star Toprak Razgatlioglu, who currently sits second in the WorldSBK standings. The ROKiT BMW Motorrad ace has clinched three wins and added three more podium finishes this season, making him a serious contender for the crown.

Non-Stop Testing Boosts BMW’s Edge

While fans enjoyed the break, BMW’s engineering squad didn’t rest. They worked closely with the WorldSBK test team, perfecting the BMW M 1000 RR to sharpen the bike’s competitiveness.

Mid-May saw the Bonovo action BMW Racing Team hit the track at Cremona, Italy. Factory riders Garrett Gerloff (USA) and Scott Redding (GBR) laid groundwork for their Misano debut ahead of the September races.

A week later, Toprak Razgatlioglu and teammate Michael van der Mark (NED) took part in testing at Misano, signalling the squad’s determination to dominate on the home turf.

BMW Sporting Director Confident Ahead of Misano Showdown

“After the long break, we can hardly wait to continue the WorldSBK season at Misano. The first three events went very well for us. The positive tests at Cremona and Misano make us optimistic. Misano is a track where we’ve had success before. We’ll give it our all to score big points on the Adriatic coast,” said Marc Bongers, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Sporting Director.
